At 16 years old, he was involved in an armed robbery. The poor decisions made during this time led to a 10-year prison sentence, a harsh reality for someone so young. This could have easily marked the end of his story, but instead, it became the beginning of his transformation.

Jhamori Smith

The life coach

Jhamori Smith, a Columbia, South Carolina resident, faced significant challenges early in life. Dropping out of Richland Northeast High School, his path took a difficult turn. At 16 years old, he was involved in an armed robbery. The poor decisions made during this time led to a 10-year prison sentence, a harsh reality for someone so young. This could have easily marked the end of his story, but instead, it became the beginning of his transformation.

During his time in prison, Jhamori made a conscious decision to change his life and J.Power emerged. Rather than allowing the prison environment to define him, he embraced self-education. He sought knowledge, bettering himself mentally and emotionally, with a clear focus on evolving beyond his past mistakes. His time behind bars was not wasted; it became a period of intense personal growth and reflection, where he forged a new path for himself.

Upon his release, J.Power returned to society with a mission. He understood the challenges that disadvantaged youth face and all the ways he could assist youth with good decision-making. Determined to make a positive impact, he dedicated his life to guiding and nurturing adolescents who were in similar situations to the one he had once found himself in. J.Power became a mentor, using his experiences to help young people unlock their potential and see the opportunities ahead that they might not have realized were possible.

Today, J.Power is a key figure in his community, inspiring the next generation to overcome adversity and make better choices. His journey from a troubled youth to a mentor and role model illustrates the power of personal transformation. Through his work, he continues to show that no matter the mistakes of the past, there is always the possibility for redemption and growth, especially when one is willing to put in the effort to change.
